Chaplain Tuition, Certification and Ordination Steps
Step One – Must be endorsed by a local church, to be submitted with Membership Request Form.

Step Two – Three letters of recommendation, to be submitted with Membership Request Form.
Step Three – Pastoral letter of recommendation, to be submitted with Membership Request Form.
Step Four – Complete and submit Admission Request Form (available online).
Step Five – Complete and submit Background Check Consent Form (available online).
Step Six – Successfully pass Chaplains Certification 20 hour training class.
Step Seven – Successfully pass Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Blended Learning.
Step Eight – Successfully pass FRCA C.E.T. (Certification Evaluation Test).
Step Nine – Application of Ordination (Applying to the Board of Ordination requires to have had completed steps 1-8).
Essential (but important) Membership Requirement Information
- All eight steps must be completed and fulfilled for FRCA Certification.
- FRCA recommendation letters must be attached to the Admission Request Form.
- We, as the FRCA, are required to run our own background checks even with the Background Check Consent Form.
- All applicants must meet the criteria before approval by the Board of Admissions.
- All chaplains must complete training and meet examination requirements before graduation and/or ordination.
- Opportunities for miniseries within the F.R.C.A. are available by recommendation from the Board of Directors only (must be endorsed by a mentor).
